And an Australian film organization established a scholarship fund in the name of the late Heath Ledger. The actor was chosen to be attached to the fund because Ledger served as an ambassador to the Australians in Film organization prior to his death at the age of 28. The establishment was announced last week at the annual Breakthrough Awards, and the first recipient will be announced next year. According to the president of AIF, the scholarship shows the organization's mission to aid and honor Australian filmmakers.
